WE ARE VERY EXCITED TO ANNOUNCE ZACH WINSLADE HAS BEEN

NOMINATED FOR APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR!

The Master Locksmiths Association of Australia is holding its Annual Conference, Gala Dinner & Awards Night later this week in Geelong. Sean McGovern, General Manager Locksmiths and Keiran McGovern, Masterkeying Manager, will be accompanying Zach to the event, where the winner of the John Andrew Apprentice of the year 2017 will be announced.

We have been very proud to have had two Apprentices win this prestigious MLAA award previously. Jason Lane in 1992 and Wayne Eagles in 1989. Wayne has been with our business for 30 years and is now one of our Business Development Managers and a specialist in the field of Masterkeying.

Independent Locksmiths & Security has a long held involvement with the MLAA. Our Director, Michael McGovern, joined the association in 1975. He was elected to the Executive and held office as President from 1981 to 1986.

Our Apprenticeship Program

Every year Independent Locksmiths & Security takes on a new Locksmith Apprentice and many of our long serving Technicians have been with us since this first stage. They include Wayne Eagles, Ian Sullivan, Brad DeVoigt, Chris Rigelsford and Michael Fernance.

Our latest apprentice is Dylan Brown, who is also a member of the Parramatta Eels Junior Rep Team. The NRL like to establish their young reps with an apprenticeship to accompany their rugby career. When Dylan expressed an interest in a Locksmith Apprenticeship, the Parramatta Eels contacted us and we were delighted to take Dylan on. Dylan played and scored a try in the NYC Holden Cup Grand Final on Oct 2nd.

Our best wishes go out to Zach!
